Modulus and Poissons Ratio
One of the important parameters in rock mechanics is the modulus of elasticity or Yang modulus, which in fact is an indicator of the resistance of the rock samples to the strain and, on the other hand, is an indicator of rock hardness. The stress applied can be the compressive strength or tensile strength of the rock specimen. This represents a linear gradient of a stress-strain curve. Stone elastic modulus is a key factor in the estimation of deformation of structural elements, as well as a key factor for determining the properties of rock mechanics in hydrocarbon reservoirs influence the decision on drilling operations, well completion, well stimulation, and so on.
