Aggregate Crushing Value (ACV)
Crushing value of the material test is a relative measurement of crushing strength of aggregates by compressive strength. To calculate this ratio, first, some of the material passed from the sieve No.1/2" (12.5mm) and stuck on the sieve No. 3/8" (9.5mm) in a steel frame equipped with a frictionless piston. With help of Tamping Rod, it is tapped and put it under pressure of a device such as a Concrete Compression Machines or a Mortar Compression Machines.
This test is carried out in two sample sizes of 75 and 150 mm in approximately 10 minutes
